- On-the-machine geometric measurement of an object; Laser geometric measurement.
- High Speed, High Precision Motion Control of Feed Drives in NC Machine Tools; Researches on various issues related to the servo control of three-axis feed drives.
- Intelligent Control of Machining Processes; Development and research of the Intelligent Machine Tool system. Autonomous optimization of machining conditions particularly in end milling processes based on the cutting force control.
- Researches on Machine Tools of New Mechanism; Motion control of 1) machine tools driven by linear motors, and 2) parallel mechanism machine tools.
- Application of Numerical Optimization Approaches to Control Problems; Efficient, and practical algorithms to solve nonconvex optimization problems. Their application to control-related problems.
- Generalization of H-infinity Optimization; Applied to 1) the head controller design of a hard disk drive, 2) a lateral controller design for automated vehicles, and 3) the design of fault management systems based on the H-infinity optimization.
