Abstract

We proposed a machining test for five-axis machine tools. This paper presents a software to help performing this machining test, and then to analyze the test result. By measuring geometric errors of the finished test piece, error motions of rotary axes, as well as geometric errors of rotary axis average lines, can be numerically identified based on the machine's kinematic model. An experimental application example to a large-size five-axis machine with two rotary axes in the spindle side is presented.
